چکیده

Present investigation was performed to determine the ability of purple plant (Tradescantia pallida L.) for removing heavy metals from a contaminated soil particularly nickel, with aid different types organic amendments. Results metal content after application fertilizers were: maximum values (ppm) V, Cr, Ni, Mn, Cu, Zn, As, Mo, Cd, Pb and Ag were respectively: 275.437, 284.807 (control 1), 265.073, 1071.32, 60.0671 2), 77.8288, 9.5162, 8.5267 5.7943 7.5076 2) 37.8868 1). Whereas, minimum V: 104.644, Cr: 85.7222 (commercial fertilizer), Ni: 164.92, Mn: 711.155 (cow dung), Cu: 15.5141 Zn: 43.3929 As: 3.7819 Mo: 0.000 (plant residue composite bird manure), Cd: Pb: 4.1535 (bird manure) Ag: 2.9181 composite). This indicate that use amendment induce phytoremediation polluted soils.

Understanding Plant-Microbe Interactions for Phytoremediation of Petroleum-Polluted Soil

Plant-microbe interactions are considered to be important processes determining the efficiency of phytoremediation of petroleum pollution, however relatively little is known about how these interactions are influenced by petroleum pollution. In this experimental study using a microcosm approach, we examined how plant ecophysiological traits, soil nutrients and microbial activities were influenc...

Phytoremediation capability of nickel and manganese polluted soil by Sorghum biocilor L.

A pot experiment was conducted based on a factorial study and complete random block design with three replicates to investigate the phytoremediation potential of Sorghum biocilor L. in soils polluted with nickel and manganese during 2017-2018. The first factor was nickel nitrate (0, 60, and 120 mg kg-1 soil) and the second factor comprised of manganese sulphate (0, 50, and 100 µM). The characte...

Soil Aggregate, Organic Matter and Microbial Dynamics under Different Amendments after 27 Years of Mine Soil Development

Physical and biological properties of soils developing from spoil material following surface coal mining in southwest Virginia are poorly understood. Additionally, the effects of various types of soil amendments such as sawdust, topsoil or biosolids on long-term soil development are lacking in the current literature. The objective of this study was to examine water stable aggregation, organic m...
